What if you did a thumbnail where one half didnΓÇÖt show your face and the other did?

Did you mean something like the examples I have above? I have my face on one side of the thumbnail.

Yeah like where you can have a picture of your face on one side and then a picture without your face on the other

I guess I'd say the light bloom is almost very distracting for me. HOWEVER, it doesn't matter what WE think, how is your audience reacting to it?

Yeah I think for this kind of thumbnail it (in my opinion) would look better without the face.
