I think the bottom without the extra kerning is easier to read

No kerning for sure. Also find the text still a tad hard to read. Needs a bit more contrast.

I agree that the text is hard to read. I might add a black square behind the text and play around with the opacity, so it's easier to read and people can still see the background.

Bottom one is better, maybe make black borders to your text to make it more readable?

fun fact for everyone, the bottom text is called "sans serif" which is usually a lot better for reading most of the time. The top is a serif font and usually only used in journals and newspapers, and mostly just print media.
