YouTube Question Does Playlist Descriptions count towards metadata/ channel optimisation?

Does Playlist Descriptions count towards metadata/ channel optimisation? I read somewhere that it does but I feel that this maybe one thing many people have overlooked.

Since playlists can show up in search it should count, at least for the playlist it self.

Yup... it counts for the searchability of the playlist but also the videos in the playkist are recognized as vmbeing similar to each other (for recommendation purposes), making the playlist metadata relevant to its videos as well.
