YouTube Tips Optimizing for the source

I checked out 4 of our top videos viewed. What is interesting, is the source is all over the board. One video had 68% from YouTube advertising, one had 54% from suggested videos, one had 39% from YouTube search and another was 33% from browse features. Based on these being all over the board, how do you know (or can you even control) where to concentrate to attract viewers?

I just optimize my YouTube videos for YouTube search, and if I get views from other sources (suggested videos, google search, etc) then that's great too. I've actually found that my most recent videos have been getting more views from external sources such as google search than if has on YouTube search.
