YouTube Help How long did it take you to get monetized

I was monetized with the old rules that only required 100 subs. Then I lost it when they changed it to 1000 subs. I believe 1-1000 subs took about 2.5 years. Getting subs have always been much harder for my channel than getting watch time. I reached 4k hours before I reached 200 subs. But things have picked up a bit, now I hope to reach or at least get close to 3k subs at the end of the year.

I am a new Youtuber but my channel (my daughter's channel) was monetized in less than 2 months. Guess we were lucky ^^

Hopefully I'll eventually get monetized, hopefully my channel progresses enough to let it grow organically, if not then i'll keep plodding along.

I am getting close to 3 years and am at 750 subs. I have had 4000+ hours for a couple years now, just getting folks to click subscribe has been a chore for me. I think another couple months and I will get there.

Started in Nov. 2019. Got monetized on June 2nd of 2020. I got to subs before watch hours. I thought it'd be a very close call to get to 4,000 hours before the end of the first year, but as I remained consistent posting, hours snowballed to where I think I did almost 1,000 hours in May or something close. If you work hard, you'll get there faster than you think. But when you start or are in the middle, it looks impossible.

It's a cool looking channel. I just subscribed. Your intro is perfectly concise. I have a lot to learn from you for my channel.

Keep your head up, to most of us YouTube is a marathon not a sprint. My channel have been in the same way, easy to get watch hours much harder to get subs. Probably since my most popular content are tutorials. I reached 4k hours before I reached 200 subs. It took me about 2 years and 9-10 months to reach 1000 subscribers. The good news is that it is snowballing a bit, getting easier as the channel grows. It took me less then a year to reach 2k subs and now I'm quickly getting closer to 3k subs with 140 new subs in the last 30 days.

I was monetized before the new YouTube policy of 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time took place..

Same here, before they took it away ;)
Have been monetized again now since late June.

Took a good amount of time and effort to get there, the most difficult part seemed to be the 4k hours for me.
Partly because i have quite a few dead subs from the early channel days, who are no longer active, or just don't watch my content anymore. ;)

Thanks. I am continuing to plug away. Confident I will get there but it is a head scratcher at times.

I am still working to monetize my channel although I have a good amount of subscribers. But my watch hours are still very low. If anyone can check my channel and share some tips and tricks to increase my watch hours.

You main focus should always be to create more quality content. You are getting a decent amount of views from your videos but you have very few videos, just 16. When it comes to YouTube where channels have houndreads if not thousands of videos 16 is more or less nothing. Best way for you do reach 4k would most likely be to create more videos. Set a goal like to reach 100 videos before the summer or something like that. And of course try to make each new video better than the previous one.

Create good content and promote your channel and succes will come. Use all media, Instagram, Facebook, twitter, TikTok. Link to your YouTube channel in those profiles. Be smart.

Although some people on here are monetised really quick, others may take time. This doesn't mean anything bad but everybody's channel is different and will mature at different times. Good Luck
