YouTube Question Channel Video auto plays

Hi

So if you click onto a Youtube Channel, there is a video that 'autoplays'

Now I haven't put a 'channel explaining video' in that position - but a 'massive giveaway'/comp video.... but...

But...

It auto plays

I'm sure I read somewhere that videos that auto play, don't count as views. Is that correct? If it is, is it better to not have this video there, as you are getting a view - but not getting that view, or viewing time added to your count.

I'm a very new channel - so it's all a little academic right now - but it would be good to know what is my best strategy... thanks xx

Yes I think autoplay doesnt count as a view .
