YouTube Help Blurry quality though it is 4k

For our last video, we decided to film it in 4k and upload it as high def. Imagine our shock and disappointment when we went to view it on YouTube TV on our television - it was only broadcasting in 1080. Turns out we found out, that YouTube only supports 4k for YouTube (Google) devices it is created in. We used Mac, so it doesn't support that. It shows up perfectly on other platforms (laptops, etc) that accept both.

Anyone else encounter this?

I've played 4K stuff on YouTube on a friends mac, but it would be limited to the screen res of the device playing on.
