Do you buy background music from a specific app/website? Is there anywhere where you can drag/drop different sounds to create your own background music?

Thanks

I don't like Soundcloud myself, cause the service is itself making a lot of copyright infringements. I used to download songs from there, but then I learned that people might just make a "remix" of some songs and then just license it as CC-BY. That will lead me to have copyright notification.

Jukedeck is what I use. You can literally make your own track and it's totally free, with attribution (a link to jukedeck).

I have only used the YouTube library. There is supposed to be a free offer with TubeBuddy and one of these sound companies, but I can never seem to get it to work.

I've actually during my youtube career checked maybe all the best music sources from the internet. Let's paste few more links here:

If you need real high-quality/professional songs, the best place is this. Includes all kind of styles from classical singing to metal:
https://zero-project.gr/

Free music archive includes basically almost everybody who did something nice with a free license. But it's hard to find the good ones because the site has also some quite bad sounding songs. However, the ability to make searches with specific license type and music style is a good feature. I premade some search settings for you:
https://freemusicarchive.org/search...ic-domain=1&music-filter-commercial-allowed=1

CC-mixer has a community of music makers who are doing mixes of the songs of their mates. So You can find many versions of the same song easily if needed. Not all of the songs there are under CC-licence tho. (there is, for example, CC-NC licenses also, so be careful what you download.
http://ccmixter.org/api/query?datas...t=rank&search=music&lic=by,sa,s,splus,pd,zero
You can search with using cc-search for example:
https://search.creativecommons.org/

The purple planet has a nice collection of cool songs also.
https://www.purple-planet.com/

Now what I've started thinking is that the different countries have different copyright laws, so probably with some random language, I would be able to find new collections. Have not the time to check this tho, cause making searches with random languages is little tricky job to do.

If you want a hassle-free site I'd recommend
https://www.epidemicsound.com/ for a recurring monthly fee of $15.00 USD you can have unlimited downloads from their tracks plus they even offer each song broken down into stems i.e. bass tracks, melody tracks, etc..
For a while, I was using them for my videos but had to stop to save on $$$ when you on a fixed income.

Another site to consider is https://artlist.io/, unfortunately, they offer only a yearly service fee of $199.00 USD

If you have upgraded you Tubebuddy account they offer a perk of 20 song downloads a month from AudioHero. not sure if that is still in place or not. The one time I used a song from AuidoHero I was hit with a Content ID claim for it. I did not have time to go deal with it so I just deleted the video and re-edited without the song since it had no views at the time.

I don't use background music. I may put in some incidental music occasionally but it comes from audiohero or the youtube library

I use Epidemic Sound as my current primary source of bg music. Sometimes I'll use free royalty-free music (lol) from certain youtube channels. I also follow this artist who lets me use his music so sometimes I put his stuff in.

Even though the channel is 2 years old, its still good to have a good source for music.

is there any proper free music provider out there?

I still use SoundCloud some, never had a problem with them, but mostly now I just use YT. I gave up. YouTube has a ton of music, but it is very hard to find anything in particular - but it works.
