YouTube Question 58 second video not going to shorts

My new short was 59 seconds long. When I load it it sits in "videos" not in "shorts" for some reason and it's now 60 seconds long.
I'ts ready to public and SEO but I want it as a short, I even made a special thumbnail for it....do you know why this is happening? What do I do?
OK, found out that YouTube adds time to shorts for some reason so got to make them 55 to 58 seconds no more than 58 because at 58.30 it makes it a long video.
So....I re-edited this video down t0 57:25 when I uploaded it youtube made it 58 seconds long,,,,however it's still only showing up in videos NOT in SHORTS where it belongs....HELP!!!!!!

Are you sure you are meeting the file type and dimensions properly (vertical 9:16). Anything above 60 sec automatically goes to long form so double check it, just in case. if these two conditions are met and you are using Short button to upload, then should be ok. You can try another new file and upload to verify it, and if it goes to shorts then its a problem with your first video.

Yes it happens sometime. Even it happens with me too but when I uploaded it was added in my shorts. So just upload it in unlisted or private then check if it is still in long video. If it is then I guess you need to edit it.
