YouTube Help Live Chat and Interactions Have Fallen Off a Cliff

When I first started doing live streams a few months ago I was getting some people in the chat and also getting a few new subs each time. I finally reached the monetization level but it seems like shortly thereafter it just dropped off a cliff. My monetization is not even enough yet to get a payout. Now, there is zero people in the chat and zero comments. It has some views, probably a little less than before. What happened? Whenever I go live I post a link on facebook and make it public, and I also post it on X/Twitter so I'm trying to spread the link around but nothing happens. Yesterday I tried scheduling it in advance. I don't know how to figure out what changed.

I understand your frustration with the sudden drop in engagement on your live streams, and it's a common challenge for content creators. Several factors might contribute to this decline. First, it's essential to consider the consistency of your content. When you were building up your audience, you may have been producing content more frequently or at specific times, which could have attracted more viewers and subscribers. As you reached monetization, you might have unintentionally changed your content schedule or style, leading to a drop in engagement.

Another critical aspect is content quality. Are you still offering valuable and engaging content that resonates with your audience? Take some time to analyze your previous successful streams and try to identify what made them popular. Maybe there's a specific topic, format, or style that your viewers enjoyed more. Additionally, audience interaction is key. Ensure that you continue to engage with your viewers during the live streams, responding to comments and making them feel involved in the discussion. As for promotion, diversify your efforts beyond Facebook and Twitter. Explore other social media platforms or online communities where your target audience might be active, and don't forget to use relevant hashtags to increase discoverability. Lastly, consider seeking feedback from your existing subscribers to understand what they'd like to see more of or any suggestions they might have for improvement. Keep adapting and experimenting to find the right formula for regaining your live stream's momentum.
