I understand not every platform is meant for every user. But what do you get by saying "Barf!! Puke!! Throw up! I hate that platform"? And it being the worst method of communication is just an opinion. TubeBuddy has benefited so much from our Discord server the forum's community has been declining because of it. I use Discord all the time. I don't understand why it's so difficult for anyone? To be fair I'm a PC geek. My knowledge of PC software is vast. I have used all kinds of chatting software from Xfire, to Teamspeak to even Skype and Ventrilo. Then I landed on Discord. I found it complicated at first, but once I got the hang of it I enjoyed using it. It PUBg in the early days that got me into Discord. It was the bets place to find teams to play with and enjoy the game during the early access days.
I've gone across the Internet learning about any software that can help me accomplish whatever I wanted to do. Photo editing, video editing, music downloading and even the ability to hep people fix Windows and remove viruses from across the country through the Internet.
You shouldn't be so hateful about things you don't understand or perhaps have no use for. If it's not for you then it's not for you. And that's ok. These forums will stay open as long as TubeBuddy finds it useful and I will do my best to maintain it with the help of my other moderators and try to keep it active as best as I can. But eventually even TubeBuddy will have to let it go. They are focusing on Discord more and more. Many of out livestream are happening on our Discord server so it's definitely gonna become a bigger focal point for the company.
Listen. I am me. Understand? I am a non-conformist, and the one thing I really hate is when modern "I am offended by anything and everything" people try to tell me to stop talking the way I do. I am not cussing you or anyone out. I am using common English language to express my feelings about something. I am sorry if you don't like the word "HATE", but understand, it is NOT a CURSE word! It is a valid expression. I really do not care for the modern agenda of toxic positivity, okay? "Oooh! You said the H word! OMG! That is soooOO! Negative! You shouldn't say mean words like that."
I appreciate what you are doing and the work you do, all I am asking is for you to stop trying to turn me into a perpetually offended Gen Zer. I was arrested in a communist country and faced torture and death at age 14 for saying things the government did not like. I have looked down the barrel of a machine gun being held to my head by a screaming soldier and not backed down. I am who I am. I talk the way I talk. If you feel that I should not be here because of the way I talk, just kick me out. No hard feelings. You are in control, and I respect your choice in this matter.
I am also a PC geek. I got my A+ Certification in the late 1990s. And then my Webmaster's certification. I have always been ahead of the curve when it comes to technology. I don't like Discord, not because I do not understand it, but because it is a horrible form of communication. It literally named "
Discord", which, quite frankly, is a very descriptive name for how it works. I know a lot of Gen Zers like it, and I know the psychological reasoning for why it is so popular as well. I speak to doctors and societal psychologists all the time about the problems arising in the younger generation due to platforms like Twitter and Discord.
Personally, I speak, read, and write in four languages and have studied language and human communication for over 40 years. Our world is in trouble because people are losing the ability to communicate. Talking is NOT communicating. Communication is being able to convey your message in a way that the hearer is able to understand what the message is. This modern generation is so messed up, that they actually believe that the speaker's message is irrelevant, it is only their perception of the message that matters. They believe that they have the constitutional right to decide what the speaker means, and that is wrong for the speaker to demand that they understand and accept what the speaker intended. It is absolute lunacy. Beyond this, many younger people, especially in the US, have almost no reading comprehension level. National studies show that the average reading comprehension level for people under 30 in the US is at a 3rd-grade level.
So, again, I know a bunch of the younger generation that LOVE Discord and think it is great. You obviously think it is okay for them to LOVE it, but it is wrong for me to Hate it. But here is the thing, I also hate a lot of other things that I will use if I find them beneficial to my business. Just because I don't like something, does not mean I won't use it. At the same time, just because I use something does not mean I have to be a FanBoy and sing its praises either. Understand?
Have an awesome night, my friend.
