This is the thing i am talking about: Set your channel guidelines
I know other people have it and it's been a thing for a while now, why don't i have it yet? They said it was in beta a long time ago. Other channels that aren't too big already have it too. I just want to add guidelines on my channel.

It would seem the answer is in the very link you provided. They are testing this feature with a small group of creators according to the link. So it's currently not available to everyone. Hope this helps.

Hi moderator... just want to know im not impressed with the not helpful on all the threads ive been creating in this forum........ Not been rude here and not been annoying. I beleive users are just arogants and dont care to help others well. Just because i wrote a lot doesnt mean im a troll and does not mean im annoying you and that a user has to ignore me because all im doing is stick to the point of the subject on YOUTUBE... im not talking about my life here.. otherwise it be offtopic... Im here to discuss about youtube and the stuff one like me wishes to know things... Im here in the forum because its where you write as much as you need to get proper and i mean proper answers.......... Just want to let you know maybe the forum of tubebuddy needs a better understanding and a change itsd not the forum problem. Its the USERS problem... Notice u get a lot of reading here but not enough help for people like this users wanting to know something.... Not enough active users. I seem to be the most active but its like talking to myself.. no one helps.. why bothered.... Take care

I am not quite sure what you're saying. Are you complaining that this community forums is not very active? Because if that's what you're talking about then I would agree. I wouldn't say members are arrogant or that they don't care. Most are here simply looking for help and don't always have an answer to other's inquiries. I would also suspect that our members prefer being on our Discord server than the forums. Our Discord is very active compared to the forums. It's unavoidable. Forums are not as popular as they used to be. Discord seems to be much more popular these days and with features similar to forums it only makes it more likely for members to be there than here. On Discord the conversation is often live, almost instant responses. Some people like instant responses.

We are still maintaining the forums, but we can't force our members to interact. I'm sorry the experience here isn't better. It used to be pretty good before. But Discord is simply much more popular these days.

I disagree. This forum is probably the best and most useful forum I have ever participated in, and I have been a part of literally hundreds of forums. There are a lot of great people on here who are willing to help, but they are not going to coddle you. As far as you personally, your writing and grammar are very difficult to understand. It seems that English is not your first language, or that you do not care enough to try to write coherently. I am not judging you. I myself suffer from a severe form of dyslexia and see everything inverted from what a normal person sees. Because I have this handicap, I use several writing aids to help me, so that I can improve my writing so that others can better understand what I am trying to say. I would recommend that you also make at least an effort to improve your writing so that people can better understand you. Give Grammarly a try. It is free and is a great way to improve your grammar, spelling, and sentence structure.

Thanks for that.. I couldn't careless to begin with how or what my English is.

Okay, that is your choice, but don't get upset or complain when people could "careless" to answer you, or if they misunderstand what you are saying. There is an old saying, "What is good for the goose, is good for the gander." If you could care less to try to write a better question, why should anyone care to answer it? Think about it. I think you will see that this is a 2-way street. As Rush Limbaugh used to say, "People judge you by the words you use."

So whats the differences between Imbedding for other peoples websites vs sharing?

I am a webmaster and have been building websites for almost 30 years, so I can answer this question. Technically (as opposed to colloquially), there is no difference in purpose between sharing a link to a video and embedding a video in a website. The only difference is that a shared link will take a person away from the website they are on and take them to YouTube to watch the video, whereas, embedding a video will allow the person to watch the video on the website they are at without leaving and going to YouTube. The video source remains the same. When you embed a video, the video is still drawn from YouTube, and will still show ads just like if it is on YouTube. The video remains hosted on YouTube whether a link is Shared or Embedded.

A lot of platforms are disabling the ability to share links because they want you to remain on their platform, and a shared link takes you away from their platform. This is why enabling embedding is the smarter choice for a forum webmaster. It is surprising that more websites do not do this, especially Facebook, which allows links that take people away from Facebook, instead of just letting them watch the shared video on platform. This is why Facebook enabled shadow banning for shared YouTube links so that nobody sees them.

Discord? Barf!! Puke!! Throw up! I hate that platform. It has to be the world's worst method of communication, right behind Twitter. I will never understand why anyone uses it. I have tried and tried to get used to it, but it is an absolute exercise in incoherence, chaos, and A.D.D. I get why Gen Zers like it. They can't read or focus on anything longer the one sentence anyway, so it fits them perfectly.

Either I do not understand you, or you do not understand the benefit of externally shared links on your channel. There is no reason to try to stop people from sharing or embedding your videos. External links are a huge boost for a channel, and YouTube really likes them because they bring people to YouTube to watch content and see their ads. Sharing is a good thing. I am not sure what your reason is for fighting it.

I understand not every platform is meant for every user. But what do you get by saying "Barf!! Puke!! Throw up! I hate that platform"? And it being the worst method of communication is just an opinion. TubeBuddy has benefited so much from our Discord server the forum's community has been declining because of it. I use Discord all the time. I don't understand why it's so difficult for anyone? To be fair I'm a PC geek. My knowledge of PC software is vast. I have used all kinds of chatting software from Xfire, to Teamspeak to even Skype and Ventrilo. Then I landed on Discord. I found it complicated at first, but once I got the hang of it I enjoyed using it. It PUBg in the early days that got me into Discord. It was the bets place to find teams to play with and enjoy the game during the early access days.

I've gone across the Internet learning about any software that can help me accomplish whatever I wanted to do. Photo editing, video editing, music downloading and even the ability to hep people fix Windows and remove viruses from across the country through the Internet.

You shouldn't be so hateful about things you don't understand or perhaps have no use for. If it's not for you then it's not for you. And that's ok. These forums will stay open as long as TubeBuddy finds it useful and I will do my best to maintain it with the help of my other moderators and try to keep it active as best as I can. But eventually even TubeBuddy will have to let it go. They are focusing on Discord more and more. Many of out livestream are happening on our Discord server so it's definitely gonna become a bigger focal point for the company.

Listen. I am me. Understand? I am a non-conformist, and the one thing I really hate is when modern "I am offended by anything and everything" people try to tell me to stop talking the way I do. I am not cussing you or anyone out. I am using common English language to express my feelings about something. I am sorry if you don't like the word "HATE", but understand, it is NOT a CURSE word! It is a valid expression. I really do not care for the modern agenda of toxic positivity, okay? "Oooh! You said the H word! OMG! That is soooOO! Negative! You shouldn't say mean words like that."

I appreciate what you are doing and the work you do, all I am asking is for you to stop trying to turn me into a perpetually offended Gen Zer. I was arrested in a communist country and faced torture and death at age 14 for saying things the government did not like. I have looked down the barrel of a machine gun being held to my head by a screaming soldier and not backed down. I am who I am. I talk the way I talk. If you feel that I should not be here because of the way I talk, just kick me out. No hard feelings. You are in control, and I respect your choice in this matter.

I am also a PC geek. I got my A+ Certification in the late 1990s. And then my Webmaster's certification. I have always been ahead of the curve when it comes to technology. I don't like Discord, not because I do not understand it, but because it is a horrible form of communication. It literally named "Discord", which, quite frankly, is a very descriptive name for how it works. I know a lot of Gen Zers like it, and I know the psychological reasoning for why it is so popular as well. I speak to doctors and societal psychologists all the time about the problems arising in the younger generation due to platforms like Twitter and Discord.

Personally, I speak, read, and write in four languages and have studied language and human communication for over 40 years. Our world is in trouble because people are losing the ability to communicate. Talking is NOT communicating. Communication is being able to convey your message in a way that the hearer is able to understand what the message is. This modern generation is so messed up, that they actually believe that the speaker's message is irrelevant, it is only their perception of the message that matters. They believe that they have the constitutional right to decide what the speaker means, and that is wrong for the speaker to demand that they understand and accept what the speaker intended. It is absolute lunacy. Beyond this, many younger people, especially in the US, have almost no reading comprehension level. National studies show that the average reading comprehension level for people under 30 in the US is at a 3rd-grade level.

So, again, I know a bunch of the younger generation that LOVE Discord and think it is great. You obviously think it is okay for them to LOVE it, but it is wrong for me to Hate it. But here is the thing, I also hate a lot of other things that I will use if I find them beneficial to my business. Just because I don't like something, does not mean I won't use it. At the same time, just because I use something does not mean I have to be a FanBoy and sing its praises either. Understand?

Have an awesome night, my friend.

OK, you've said your peace. Now here's mind. You may not think you're offending people. And I'll venture to say that with all your knowledge and 4 languages you probably don't care if you do anyways. But let's get one thing clear. You do offend people, you do come off as doing it on purpose with your smug attitude. And yes I said it. You may not like being called smug but this is reality and when you act a certain way you'll be labeled that way.

I personally don't care if you ever decide to use Discord or not. My goal was to understand why you have to hate something when it seems unnecessary and exaggerated in my opinion. But again, that's just my opinion. This conversation has everything to do with YouTube and other forms of communication between creators and nothing to do with Gen Xers and such but you decided to have an opinion criticizing a group of people because apparently you don't relate to them and just seem to think, based on your multiple instances of mentioning them, that they seem dumb by comparison.

Well I'll make it very simple. My job is to moderate these forums, to help creators in any way that I can and to ensure the forums are not having issues. I won't tolerate talk that comes off as offensive, and as moderator of this forum I decide what is considered offensive. Your response to me rude and unnecessary. You could have responded that it's simply the way you feel without trying to come off as I'm smarter than you and Gen Zers.

I will leave this as a verbal warning but I expect in the future you use those 4 languages and your PC degree and perhaps be a bit less rude or offensive to people in general while on these forums. Thank you and have a nice day.

And to be clear, I am not talking about your disdain for Discord as being offensive or rude. Understand?
