YouTube Help New short ineligible for monetization

I just uploaded a short but it can not be monetized. It looks very similar to a video I uploaded a few days ago but I just recorded the short a few hours ago. This is all my own content so I'm very confused why this has happened.

Does any one have any insight on this?

i thought monetize shorts only begins on Feb 1st?

My guess is your total shorts only views haven't had 10 million views the past 90 days. Once you achieve that (continuously) then your shorts will be monetized. But I also believe shorts monetization starts officially in February.

I just figured it out, it is because I used a song from the shorts library in my video. So I guess the new shorts policy applies to this short and why it says it can not be monetized due to it being remixed with third-party content.
