Need Advice Which is better for a channel: One long 20 minute video or four 5 minute videos?

I just edited a video and it's 20 minutes, but since each chapter could be it's own video, I was wondering if it would be better to have four videos each 5 minutes long? Obviously for SEO the more videos the better, perhaps I should stick with that line of thinking? Thanks for any comments.

Usually, I pick a topic, then I divide that topic into sub-topics. I upload 15 - 30 minutes ONE VIDEO. So, I break them into chapters by writing timestamps in video description. As long as sub topics are related to main topic, the length of video should be fine. But if I reanalyze any sub-topic is not related, I cut out that part for other tutorials. I hope this helps!
Overall, if your 20 minutes video covers up main topic and it is engaging. Then stick to one video. Otherwise, upload in parts.

Thanks, is that based on better for SEO or better for end user experience?
If the end user watch your full video or atleast 50%, your watch hours rise up. You can break your video into 4 videos FOR BETTER SEO, if, you put keywords on every title within 55 characters and put same keywords in first line of the description, and also in tags. That wya you would be able to optimize your videos.

The truth is that while asking others for opinions on this is ok to get a general idea of what to expect, the best course of action is to simply experiment yourself and see what works best. Pick 2 different videos and try each concept. One video for the full length with chapters and the other divided into multiple videos as parts and see which one results in better analytics. And perhaps you would consider a longer trial and use 4 videos instead of 2 and switching between styles to see the end results.

Trial and error is the best way to know for sure rather than only trying one based on opinions from others. You have to take into account that everyone's opinions are based on their experience, how they learned to grow their channel, the content/genre they create for, the target audience they have and even the region your videos are targeted to. In the end the advice is just meant to give you guidance and direction but not assurance or guarantee. You'll just have to try it out yourself for the best results for you and your specific channel and audience.
