Self review: What I would like to know are the specifics like the length of the text, what color against a black background? Overall quality of the chosen stock footage. I'm always limited on the different angles since I don't shoot any of it myself. Overall I like it, but I understand there is room to improve.

I just signed up here today and and I noticed you didn't get any feedback yet.
Also I'm not an expert at all so take what I say with a grain of salt.

So first of all, I'm an atheist. I can't speak to the message that in the video, but I can tell you that I can still be drawn in by a biblical message if it is given in a way that draws me in.

I would suggest that instead of putting the entire message in black and white for a full 18 seconds (which seems to drag on and on far too long for someone like me who doesn't already "get it".

break it up.

"Enter the narrow gate." then add some b-roll stock image maybe of soneone entering thru a gate.. (already I would feel suspense here and wonder what the heck is this about... i would keep watching)

"for the gate is wide and the way is easy.."

(some more b-roll)

"..that leads to destruction"

(and some more compelling footage)

It would give me a second to think about what i just read and maybe the message would sink in, right?

I wouldn't let the footage go on longer than 2-3 seconds in between or you lose my interest.

And assuming this message is for people who aren't already religious, you might hook me in and once I get that it's a verse from the bible and my knee jerk reaction is to click away, you've already fed me whatever message it is this is attempting to send me. 2 minutes. too long. 30 seconds. tops.

Hope that helps.

So I like the song that you chose because it doesnt distract from the message that you're trying to present, however some of the video clips don't really match. I would find other video clips to use, make them slightly shorter and more interesting. I would also place a black opaque box in the center of the video clips and write the text there. The intro was too long and slow.

I feel that in order to retain the viewers attention, we need to place interesting visually appealing shots while still trying to get your message across. Personally, I rarely use a single clip for more than 8 seconds or so. No black screens with text either. But I like the choice of song that you chose :)

For the stock footage, I liked the scenes where it showed someone walking down a path rather than 2 girls simply talking or casually strolling down the street. you can still use these, but I'd 100% shorten these clips as they don't add to much to the message you're trying to convey.
