Hello everyone,
I had been to YouTube for long time. Let me share you some tips on growing your channel FAST.
1. Find your niche
When you start youtube channel, you must decide your niche. If you are confused about the niche that fits you. Then upload 10 different niche videos. Whichever video gets lot of attention. Go for that. In my case, I am passionate Graphic Designer, so I post graphic designing tutorials especially Adobe InDesign. I am amazed by the number of my channel growth. So, when you know your niche, keep uploading those videos. Be consistent. Upload every week, if possibly everyday.
2. Video Quality
You can use your DSLR, Camcorder or Phone to record your videos. You may like using Screen recorder as well. Record your videos at least in HD format (1280x720p). If you have no lighting equipment, then use the natural light from your room windows. You can use Filmora or any other video editing software. I use Adobe Premiere Pro.
3. Audio Quality
Never compromise audio at any cost. Once you hear noise in the radio station, you change the station right? Similarly, use your earphones that have built in mics to get the best audio. I use lavaliar mic, which gives incredible clear audio results. Then I use adobe audition to enhance the audio.
4. Videos longer than 10 minutes is RECOMMENDED
So you have all the resources to make your video. You should focus on length of video. 2 minutes video have better retention rate. However, 10 minutes video might have low retention rate, but high watch hours. YouTube ranks the videos based on watch hours. It isn't a requirement, but if you do, then its a bonus.
5. YouTube algorithm
You made your awesome video and uploaded to YouTube. But there are few things you must keep in mind to rank your video higher.
(i) title of the video
Simple titles are boring and people won't click on boring titles. So you won't get views. Watch how your competitors have titled their videos. Do not copy them, rather write your own title getting inspiration from them. Your title must have Uncommon words, Common Words, Emotional Words and Power Words. I use this website AIOSEO to generate my titles. It really helped me craft my titles. Furthermore, tubebuddy provides 3 credits every month that gives you title suggestions. Once you choose your desired title, you will use 1 credit. Tubebuddy is very helpful tool. Install the extension ASAP.
(ii) description
If you are unboxing a product, write at least one line about it. Write the same keywords in description as in title. For example, "Unboxing Sony PS5 for the first time" then write the description, 'I purchased PS5 the day it was released, so I did the unboxing of Sony PS5 and I am happy with the product, new gaming features and controls as well as its packaging.' Express your thoughts and reactions.
If you are still confused what to write in the description, Tubebuddy provides you the suggestions for the description. You must definitely include the keywords in your description. Because when you search on Google or YouTube, the keywords from the description are BOLDED up. Now you know the algorithm.
(iii) Tags
It isnt much important, but it helps your videos as a suggestion video appearing next to your competitors. Tubebuddy and VIDIQ both are smart tools for that. Consider it.
(iv) Time stamps
Not many youtubers do this, but I do this. My videos are long, so I divide them in chapters. I write the time on my description with the relevant chapter title. You can do it too. If your video is about TOP 10 or TOP 5 figures, then write the timestamps in your description. This helps people to skip some parts and watch the chapter they actually wanted to see. If your video is very engaging, then they won't skip at all.
(v) Captions
it isn't a requirement. However, with captions, your video gets an extra rank. Let's say people can't understand your accent, or maybe you made video in your own language, then use captions as subtitles. It helped me a lot. So you too.
6. Thumbnails
You have awesome video title, people want to click on it. But your competitor has no-so-good title, then people chose to watch that video. Why? Because your competitor has NICE THUMBNAIL. If your thumbnail aint catchy, they won't click. Keep in mind, your thumbnail must highlight the content of your video. For example, PS5. Design your thumbnail in canva website. Add the PS5 photo in the thumbnail. Then add random Guy/Girl emotional reaction photo next to it. Yes! People click on videos that show emotions and the product itself.
I hope these tips will help you grow your channel. All the best.
