Question why doesnt thumbnail picker work with 360 degree videos?

I'd expect it to work with 360 degree videos since its a fairly popular tool and 360 degree videos are fairly common, instead of getting just my view in the 360 degree video it gets the entire frame of it which looks weird

360 videos are unique in their coding; but one of the drawbacks is that software that uses frame grabs (like our thumbnail picker) can't really do that with the 360 view. This inherently bugs out the thumbnail generator tool. It will likely get updated at some point to include some sort of 360 frame grab, but at this time there are other tools, updates and bugs that are taking a higher precedent with our development team.
