YouTube News YouTube shorts thumbnails are entirely gone now

I am not sure anyone noticed but the thumbnails that used to appear on desktop version of Youtube Shorts has been entirely done away with. We used to be able to display thumbnails for Shorts videos on the desktop version but not anymore.

For channels that have mixed content, the lack of thumbnails on Shorts videos really makes channels the overall channel look unattractive when you look through a library of videos.

For example, LegalEagle has a fair amount of Shorts and they used to have thumbnails that made the desktop version of Youtube look reasonably attractive. Now, it just looks much worse. It seems that YT has stripped away that thumbnail ability presumably to be consistent with the mobile version.

It does annoy me when I'm going through a channel's page and all I see are shorts videos mixed in with regular videos. Like you said, they're easily distinguishable because they can't have thumbnails now. Youtube should at least allow you to filter by shorts or not shorts when going through a channel page.

This just seems like another step of youtube's plan to force shorts on everyone.

Isaiah Photo is another good example. He makes lots of shorts, and good ones, don't get me wrong, but still lots. They clog up the videos page. It looks off on the front page too.
