I was just reading about YouTube Views and I got surprised to learn that you donΓÇÖt get paid for the video views, but rather for how many views ads one gets.
This is because to have advertisements on your videos means that your channel is eligible for Youtube monetization.

YouTube pays about 68% of ads sale revenue ie for every $100 advertiser pays to Google you get 68%of that and that translates to about 18 cents per view since the advertiser pays between 10 cents to 30 cents per ads view.

This is why views matter more than subs even though it's not the views that get you paid. Subs get you the opportunity to become part of the YPP, but it's the views that get the money because the more views the better the chances the ads are seen thus better chances of more revenue.
