OK so I am looking for an affordable new camera that will shoot 4K. I have looked at a couple but I haven't made a decision yet. Do you guys have any suggestions on cameras?

Well... There's plenty and also depends on what you want to do with it? 4K ok.... but do you plan to use it on a tripod inside... Go outside hiking, vlog walking.... Do you want to change lenses or don't care... Big zoom or not? All different points that are important here.... I do own many!!! but for my type of channel and how I use my camera... I have the Sony ZV1 ... Perfect size..4K, super smooth camera for what I need.
It's not the cheapest but far from the 1k up cameras. "the ZV1 also comes with a wind muff and clips for external mic or lamp etc" Tons of videos available..Super high rating.

It just depends on what you need it for. Most smartphones can do 4K and some can do 4K really well. The OnePlus 7T is an amazing 4K video camera and you can get one off eBay for $150. Pair it up with a nice gimbal, like the DJI Osmo Mobile 3 ($90 on Amazon) and you have a really good 4K vlogging camera. There are also several good microphone options for under $100 as well. So for around $300, you could have a nice setup to get you started. There is always room for improvement down the road.

Yeah it's crazy what phones can do these days.
Late to the party here, but also a Sony fan. ZV-1 for pocket camera, ZV-e10 gets you interchangeable lenses if you want that.
