Self review: My Channel is about hypnosis. I used to just post street hypnosis clips, but in the last year I post tutorial breakdowns to inform people about what is happening in the clips. A few years back I improved the SEO (titles, descriptions, keywords) and the views spiked, but then drop back down after a few months to a regular steady line. I've not changed things recently but views have started to decline form 15k mth to 13kmth. I post a new video every Sunday. And additional videos during the week of the therapy related types. Keen on some expert feedback. My current last 356days is 3.7k and has been for a good while. As with all I'd like to see it over 4k and more subs. Can it be that people are just not interested in OR maybe spooked out by hypnosis? Let me know your thoughts.

For starters I wouldn't worry about the current decline in views (this coming from someone who is currently pulling their hair out because of a current decline in views ). 2020 was a boom year for YouTube creators; the pandemic caused everyone to sit at home and watch videos and gave us all this great spike. Now it's 2021 and everyone is sick of being at home; they are out travelling and going places... not watching YouTube. So there is a very noticeable drop in views this year versus last year. That has nothing to do with you or your work and it is something I suspect will return in the Spring.

Your numbers are great for where you are at. You have had some really strong videos that obviously hit the discovery systems (the 'algorithm') and you have some solid SEO going into your work. Keep that up, it's working for you. Your sub count is low compared to your overall views and the quantity of videos that you have made, but this is a very easy thing to fix.

I love your style; I watched 'Try and resist the hypnosis' and the way you did this video is so solid. It jumps right in, no BS. No intro. No nonsense. We are immediately thrust into the experience and that is such a great way to do it. That having been said, I think you need to include a 'Subscribe' call to action. In circumstances like this I typically suggest having that CTA early on, but your videos are fairly short and if this were me I would be ok with having it at the end (the endscreen is great, but it is obviously not working as well as it could be). Your CTA needs to have an audio and more visual presentation to it. I'm going to go a little gimmicky here, but I would suggest that once you have reached the natural end of what is being filmed I would pull a stopwatch out of your pocket, look at the camera and do a little 'and now you are going to subscribe...' schtick to make the CTA natural and funny for the viewer. This will get you a far better response than just having an end screen or lower-third doing the work for you.

Another thing that I see is the SEO here. It's a bit of a missed opportunity. Using single words like 'hypnosis,' 'good' 'feel..' there is zero point in including those as tags. They are each competitive beyond belief and they do nothing to index your SEO. Together they work; 'feel good hypnosis' is a great tag... you need to target more long-tail keywords like that. Research what people are looking for. Your content is perfect for virality, but including the research and optimizing for search will not only improve these viral opportunities they will also provide a chance for a second life in search for videos which don't end up going viral. I'm not sure what direction I would go for hypnosis, but I imagine people would type things like 'can I be hypnotized,' 'getting hypnotized in the street,' etc in search. That is how you nail SEO. Find those weird things people type when they are on a YouTube bender at 3 a.m. and capitalize on this traffic.

That is my main areas of critique, but I do want to add that you have a FANTASTIC channel with a really solid niche concept. Keep doing what you are doing, this stands out to me as a channel with a LOT of opportunity. It is unique and fun and you have a great personality to boot. That is a great combination!

Many thanks for the feedback. In the last year or so I've put CTA's in all my vids - so you picked on an older one to view. But appreciate your thoughts. Many thanks.
