YouTube Question When did you start an email address for your channel?

Hey, we see some channels have an email address for their channel. Would you say to create one or not?

Create one because YouTube does a decent job of not letting it get out all over the Internet, but it will and you will get SPAM constantly. A good service with excellent spam and phishing protection is really helpful and it keeps it out of your personal email.

Yeah it is good to have an email address early on. Just because a video is old doesn;t mean it won't get views and responses five years from now. You do NOT want to have to go back through a year or two's worth of videos to update the descriptions with a new/different email addresses. Better to maintain uniformity from the beginning.

When Geocities shut down (2008/9?) I got my own domain for web hosting. The domain included 5,000 email addresses (now unlimited)... so... I made a channel email the same day I named my channel (2015/6?). I figured it would never hurt to have a separate email.

Yeah, get your e-mail and Web site set up first, then get your YouTube channel going.
