Need Advice Racing a friend to subs?

I challenged a buddy of mine to a sub off with the idea that the last one to hit 100 subs has to do some punishment forfeit. The idea being that it keeps us motivated and can make for some good content depending on who wins and looses.

Has anyone done this before? What do you think? Good/bad idea?

Chasing subs is always a bad idea because subs is not equal to audience, and you need an audience.

Yeah, this is totally the wrong way to go about. It totally neglects the audience. It's about the people you serve not the number of subscribers you have. This is exactly what got Ebeneezer Scrooge off track. He cared more about money than people's lives.

I agree with everyone else. If you wanna do a challenge perhaps do one that can benefit both of you and give you a better motivation to create good content such as getting the better CTR and maybe even most view time.
