Hey ya'll!

I'm trying to figure out where I can buy a replacement part that allows me to attach a ball head to the shiny metal bit at the end of my overhead tripod. I've attached a picture, any help (including the name of the metal shiny bit, and the name of the connector(?)) would be very much appreciated!

Thanks ya'll!

Lots of adapters that are designed to do just that. Most production equipment uses standard sizes. Check online and I'm sure you will find an adapter.

It looks to me like you may already have an adapter on their to go from 3/8" to 5/8" for a microphone. Does that larger bit on the end screw off at all? If not, you can get a reducer, but if it will screw off then you can probable directly attach a ball head.

It would make sense that it is for a microphone, but I plan on using it to record overhead videos. I just tried to unscrew it but didn't get very far. I'm tempted to take a pair of pliers to it but afraid I might just break the thing. I think I'll reach back out to the original owner to see if they can help further.

Thanks for your help!

Don't take it off. What Ben and I are saying is that it is a standard size adapter and you can buy a head that screws on to it. Most audio equipment uses standard sizes and there are tons of adapters to switch from one type to another.

Ah gotcha. Thank you.
