I tried to put a subscribe button on my channel but it didn't work

You mean subscribe button on watch page ? If you watch your own video while using that same channel account, you wont see a subscribe button, instead you'll see "Analytics" and "Edit" buttons.

Hey there put your channel link and remove everything except the part where it starts with a U that should work.

If you are talking about the little button on the bottom right of the video. It doesn't show up on TV's, or mobile. Only on desktop when you view videos.

If I understand this correctly, you're referring to the end screen subscribe button. You'll need to add an end screen to your video and then add the button there.
