Need Advice Channel Keywords

I know the importance of video tags and keywords but I just wondered the importance of channel keywords, I see some channels have loads of them and some non at all. So I guess my question is, what is most important, video or channel tags ? or do they function in different ways ?

They function is slightly different ways. Think of channel tags as aiding people in discovering your channel versus tags on videos helping people to discover your videos.

When you search on YouTube you will note that it often shows you links to videos and channels. One of the elements that helped them know to offer you the channel as a search result were the tags on the channel.
