Currently I have been using PhotoPea to develop my thumbnails. And it's worked Just fine. Also, seeing that it's free, I have saved some cash in my pocket. However, i'm always looking for other photo editing softwares that may provide better services in the circumstance in which I need it. This is a very broad question and nothing real specific here.

That being said, what photo editing software do you use and why?

Any photo editing softwares nowadays are quite good, even the free one. But for me, I use photoshop because I used to it and there's a lot of things you can do to edit your photos/images.

For my actual photography, I use Lightroom. I keep going back to it. It does pretty much everything I need without really needing Photoshop or similar.

For thumbnails, etc. I use quick tools like FaceTune and similar.

I mostly used a free app I found a while back called RealWorld Paint that is somewhat similar to how PhotoShop works. I recently purchased the subscription from Adobe for access to all of their software including PhotoShop and Premier Pro so I plan on putting them to good use and learning how to use them to the max.

GIMP. It's free. It's open source. I use Linux, so GIMP is it.

For basic colour, I actually like windows 10 default photo viewer, it lets you edit photos now.
I purchased affinity photo which is a lower budget version of Photoshop but still powerful. I find it easier to understand than GIMP.

On mobile I love Snapseed. Very powerful with an easy user interface with much more refined control than most photo editors. It even allows some basic text overlays if you want to add some watermarks and can work for thumbnails as well. Great little app.

I use Hitfilm Express the free version. Its not the best but it is loaded with options. Its also easy to use and it encourages its users to post how to videos with it so there are plenty of tutorials on how to use it.

Currently I have been using PhotoPea to make modifications to any images in whichever way I desire. And it has worked Just fine. Also, seeing that it's free, I have saved some cash in my pocket. I use all adobe products I have the creative cloud. Photoshop is really good for all the options and adobe provides a great deal of support if you have no idea what you are doing. Like me. LOL

Editing a photo can be a challenging process, but you won't have any problems if you know how to use edit apps. The main element of editing photos is the background. This can be tricky because it is often hard to see the borders of the foreground and background. But there are some ways to make this easier. The first is to use a good camera. A good camera will usually have an automatic setting that helps with this problem. I would advise you to use https://www.frameshop.com.au/custom-picture-frames. There you will find all the edits you need.

I started out using Windows Movie Maker. Then I realized that it wasn't processing my 4K footage to 4K.

So I bought Pinnacle Studios and tried it. It was really glitchy and edits would have to be done a few times in a row. It was killing my editing groove.

So I tried Premiere from Adobe and it was way too advanced for me to get the hang of.

I ended up trying Vegas 15 and that is what I use today. I wonder if Premiere would be a better choice now that I know a bit more. Vegas is okay but sometimes it doesn't perform the way they market it to.

I ended buying a really nice 4K laptop just for editing videos. It's the only 4K computer I have LOL

I am sorry, compared to many image experts, I am a simpleton. I mostly use Canva for basic photo editing. I might use an app to try different filters. That is the best I got. I've used Adobe Fireworks. Photoshop is just too darn complicated and hard for me.

I use photoshop or Gimp (gimp is free) when I need to blend pics together and to add titles to my thumbnails. For other stuff (but sometimes to add titles as well), I use PhotoScape X, which is free as well :)
