Answered Does TubeBuddy encourage creators to make youtube shorts

Hi,it's me Dandy Coward and I have specialised in making youtube short videos and that's how I have managed to get the 42 subscribers I have now through the opportunity some of my videos get into the shorts shelve but does tubebuddy really encourage this?

The longer answer probably is that Shorts is still at such an early stage so it's really hard to know how it will impact channels long term, so there's probably not enough data yet to make a real judgement. But like much of YouTube, each creator's journey is individual. Shorts might work for one channel, but have a negative impact on other channels and is probably based more on knowing your audience and what they will and wont accept.

I'm sure once more is known about Shorts, TubeBuddy may make a video on it, but I personally still think it's too early to say.

I haven't heard @Andrew speak much on it yet so would love his thoughts on it. But in the short term, have a watch back at that livestream.

TB is mostly a SEO tool. I am unsure how SEO works with shorts. I have played with them a little, but am still undecided on them...

At the end of the day, shorts aren't for everyone. They CAN work for some type of content, but for others, it may be more harmful. Tb is merely a tool, and there is no definitive "you should do shorts" or "you should not do shorts" stance, it seems to be working for you so keep at it, but just know that the watch hours on mobile won't count for monetization and whatnot if you care for that.
