You have to get monetized to get money on youtube. You have to have 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time within the last 12 months. Then you have to apply to get monetized and follow the steps given. It is not as easy as a views to money thing. There is a lot more to it than that. To see more about the subscribers and hours of watch time information and how to apply to get monetized, go to your channel studio and then click where it says "monetization" (it is above customization and right under subtitles).

Yup... gotta hit that 1k/4k mark before you are gonna monetize. Thats adsense of course... so dont expect much money.

From a financial perspective it would be smarter to start a business and utilize videos to promote sales as the money you get from adsense is really pitiful compared to other revenue sources.

Remember, you don't need to be monetised to make money. Affiliate marketing, merch sales etc don't require monetisation to do.
