If used with your title, I think the first one is better.

On the second one, the bottom text is too small and it'll be hard to read on mobile.

first one definitely tells us what the thumbnail is about without even needing to read anything. good work on that! Unsure of the red, because red usually means bad, but it is eye grabbing. will be interesting seeing the CTR for that one. it even looks good in thumbnail mode.
