Reddit embedded link - still count?

Hey,

On a reddit forum - my link [to YouTube] was taken down

They instead said I had to list it embedded

I did that 'via' the YouTube video

My question is........

Will any views count, as I believe on Facebook they don't?

Because if views and time watched don't count - there's no benefit to embedding the clip - and I may as well not post it on Reddit

I believe that any view that is a result of a user taking action counts, i.e. an automated play does not count, but 'click-to-play', does!

I just read somewhere that Facebook [on embedded clips] doesn't pass on the 'info'/view

But if that's the case

For a smaller channel - it's no real difference

I think a bigger channel would want people on the youtube platform - so they are more likely to hang around for more of their content ... or subscribe

Wouldn't surprise me if the only views and watch time that count are the watch time and views ON YouTube and not through any embedded methods

This is something I've noticed - nothing to do with TB

But so many of these questions, it appears that nobody seems to know the actual answer

It feels like YT is quite secretive about how somethings actually work

I hope these is a definitive answer for this one
