Guys,

Everyone knows that a great video is essential for success. But don't underestimate the power of keyword research. That's where TubeBuddy comes in.

Check this out. Since I'm a Barrister, I'm qualified to produce authoritative content on very specialist areas - but you can do it too. Pick something you are passionate about, and research it until you find some keywords that have great volume, and great potential. Here's what I've done today.

I created 13 videos, back-to-back, for my BRAND NEW channel, BarristerSecrets with less than 10 subscribers (when I launched the videos). I picked a specialist area of law and researched the hell of out of some very specific points that I can focus on. Check out these results:

Great search volume. REasonable competition. Looks good to me.

Made the videos, repeat for different search terms.

Here is one of the videos IMMEDIATELY upon launch in a playlist for my audience to consume:

NUMBER #1 for every search term, with a ton of search volume.

This is repeated across almost all of the videos I've released today.

And here is the impact on my viewer traffic.

That's great, but the problem is finding high score keywords with volume like that for specific channel genres.

Take my motovlog channel for example, it's nigh impossible to find high score keywords like you did for motovlogging due to how many motovlog channels are online. Lots of search volume but you need lots of views to even break into the search algorithm, this makes new channel growth very difficult. I'm spending a lot of my time searching for motovlog topics which aren't saturated just to give me a chance to grow my channel to a size where the more typical keywords would be practical. It's going to be hard work and it's going to take time, which I'm okay with.

I think there are definite channel types which have it easier than others with keyword optimization.

Well, take my field for example.... Law .... how many law firms and companies have spent millions on pushing their content?

You have to find a niche within a niche ΓÇö TREE LAW was just one example.
A recent video I did was in contract law. MASSIVE competition. So how to niche the niche? Drill down to more granular search terms.

I'll demonstrate:

"Contract law" - just look at the search volume. And competition is a NO-GO

But when I search (and it takes time) to find a more granular, long-tail search term, I came up with this:

"Are Verbal Contracts Legal?"
Check this out:

NOW, we're talking!

Try this for yours.

For example:

Play around and see what you can come up with.

That's the trick I guess: thinking about search outside the box. What I feel is a typical search phrase is different than how lots of people are actually searching for things. Takes a lot of keyword hunting and trial & error to find decent candidates.

I'm finding myself spending a LOT of time just hunting keywords!

A great tip is START with the keyword research.. then do the video!
