Ballet was my life for 50 years, but now I "dance" & "choreograph" through video. Ballet dancer Sergei Polunin is my favorite subject.
I had no plans to retire anytime soon, but in June of 2016, I was diagnosed with ParkinsonΓÇÖs Disease.
A neurological, degenerative, movement disease (the shaky one), Parkinson's soon robbed me of all the things ballet dancers rely upon. My arms and legs now have a mind of their own, my muscles have become rigid whereas I was once very flexible, and my sense of balance has ceased to exist.
IΓÇÖve tied my last pair of pointe shoe ribbons, but I've found a new way to celebrate ballet!
