I just realized that my best time to publish tool had ages old data in it - especially since it shows [last 12 weeks] I was assuming that I have up to date values shown.

I see two possibilities how to easily avoid such confusion:
1st: show the last update date
2nd: add a "refresh on launch" checkbox so the tool always loads new data when it's launched (slower start up of course)

Kunicross, My Best Time to Publish page does have a "Refresh YouTube Analytics" button.

Yes but for me the impression was that you always had up to date data there since there is no hint that the stuff you see is actually from your last refresh (for me it changed quite substantial with the first refresh after X months now).

And I guess for a bigger channel the refresh takes quite a while that's why it's not done automatically (also there is propably not so much change on a day by day basis) but giving you a clear clue from when your data actualy is seems a really good idea.
