Hi everyone, I have a small channel 167 subscribers and I’m hopeful that I’ll gain the milestone of 25000 views soon. I realise that it’s common to lose subs, however I lost 3 this morning, one after another. It was quite funny really, you should have seen my face lol! I thought, ‘is this trajectory going to continue. Thankfully it stopped. Just wondered does this happen often. Quite new to the world of YouTube.

Good question, It has happen to me all the times.. Annoying. But you get used to it sort of until im also shocked and almost had a nerve attack when someone UN-SUBSCRIBED.. I think that what just happened is that a Robot (bot) has added u so that the bot can try to spam your videos comments but i mean YouTube is always looking out for the viruses out there that means they get rid of bots in every aspects from what im understanding in this forum... Yesterday someone subscribed to me (wouldn't no who it is) But then today that user or the bot has unsubscribed to me. So in my theory it is logically understanding that if someone subscribe to your channel its because they want to stay with you....

Its too hard to believe a real USER will subscribe to you today and hours later or tomorrow the user will unsubscribed to you and leave... So it makes MORE sense that it is Fake bots... just bots that subscribed random people .... think of it like a virus worm that goes random add on and are attacked to peoples channels.... But the reason why you see it unsubscribed its MORE likely that Youtube automatically found out that the Bot was simply a bot and has deleted or took the bot AWAY FROM YOUR channel so that your channel doesn't get bombarded with spam and what not.

So that's what i believe i mean some real users will subscribe and then delete or some older subs will stay for weeks or months and then they got bored of my videos and they uninscribed. But the real part in this what i believe its simply more the BOTS... bots will subscribe to anyone... they don't give people LIKES on videos.. they just a virus that are attacked to peoples channels just so the bot can eventually work around by spamming your videos... So YouTube will of course get rid of the virus you know the (Bot) or the fake robot alike a user.

It has happened to me every-time.. kind of happy when someone subscribe to me and see the numbers blunting up... but then that 1 subscriber unsubscribed.. which means its MOST likely a bot and YouTube automatically kills every bot out there 24/7 a week.

So relax because im in the same situation as you.. This is what i believe and it wouldn't just be a real user who just subscribe to your channel and then the next day they unsubscribed.... really really i doughty it..... i mean unless the user is brain dead and doesn't no what he's doing. that its super hard to believe.... so its most likely a fake subscriber as in a (bot) yeah the bots... it sure wouldnt be a real subscriber... But also sometimes a real subscriber will do that but think of it that it's more to do with these horrible bots out there....

This is what and how i learn things from this wonderful forum.... thanks to the expertees or at least those who know things.

All the best and see what others have to say.

It happens. I lose subscribers with just about every video I upload. The main thing is over a year that you gain more subscribers than you lose.
That’s one way to look at it Damon. Thanks for your comment.

Yeah it is MOST likely just random Bots that goes around like a virus where the bot (fake user) subscribes as many people's on YouTube. It's simply hard to really believe that a real user would Subscribe to your channel and then they Unsubscribed hours or days later... (It all depends and the situation of your video contents of course) but if someone willing to subscribe to you.. they would of already have watch 1 or more of your video content BEFORE he or she desires to subscribe to your channel. It sure wouldn't be a fool who subscribes and then unsubscribed hours later... Unless the person is out of he's or her's mind... But sounds like bots. I get this all the damn times..

Bots are just automatically fake ghost user where it just spreads around all over YouTube and subscribes to everyone by the (random) so what happens there is that once they subscribe to someones channel like yours for example the bot will then advertise on your comments on your videos as in actually spamming your channel by adding porn website links and whatever.... I really hate when this happened.. it has happen to me a few small times 3 months ago.. i blocked and i report it for spamming the comments on my videos by adding a porn website link... Horrible... That's what bots do.. bots subscribe to random channels and they just want to advertise by spamming your channel.. if that happens report it or block it all the times.

Its MOST likely the bots.. But why do they unsubscribe? YouTube most likely banned users that are seen as Bots.... think of it this way.... you have inserts in your house and in the bedrooms... you must call the spray professional's let them come in and randomly spray the whole house to kill the virus and the inserts... Now your house is clean free from virus and insets and what ever else.. Just like that well Youtube automatically doesn't spray youtube.. But will automatically BANNED as many as fakes BOTS as possible every 24 hours a day 24/7 days a week... Not sure how YouTube can handle this work with over 1million of users using YouTube.. But must be automatically banned. Then youtube automatically detects and banned the bot... thats WHEN YOU will SEE your channel start to show that (someone has just Unsubscribed and your back to 99 subscribers when you just had 100 subscribes just hours ago.. that 1 Bot would of made it to 100 making it look like you have a new subscriber but that just 1 or more was actually not real but more of a bot... and when YouTube banned that bot.. you can clearly see that the BOT has quickly unsubscribed to your channel because the bot got banned on YouTube for spamming around random peoples channels.... So its most likely bots... but also can be real users who some how unsubscribed to your channel for a reason or because.... they got bored easily of your video or whatever the weirdest thing peoples mind...... but hard to imagined it.

Good luck.

I respectfully disagree that it's all bots or even 'ghost users'.

It's the "way of social media life" - you gain some; you lose some. Here's a screenshot of my INSTAGRAM and if I were to check my TT, I'd find similar numbers of subs/unsubs... (to put things in perspective, I used to grow by 300 followers a day about a year ago)

There's an article I read on that topic quite some time ago - I had asked ChatGPT to summarise it for me so I'd have it on file - here's the screenshot/takeaway which I honestly think nailed it on the head.

25k subs...soon? Maybe shoot for smaller milestones at first. ;) I have several small channels myself and this pattern is very normal and expected. But yah... it's always much more noticeable for smaller channels when you lose a sub or 2. lol..

"One day; one day" I always say - at least @Lindam has the next realistic milestone of 1,000 set in her profile

Correct. When someone unsubscribes, it can mean they lost interest. But another person hops on to replace them. Hopefully, we end up with net gains. But it is entirely possible to have net losses too.

I don't claim to be an expert on social media, but users come and go. They get interested, then lose interest later. I subscribe and later unsubscribe to some channels because my list ends up getting too long to keep up with.

It isn't a stretch that others will both subscribe and unsubscribe on us too.

Exactly my thinking AND how I go about it as well. I used to be all over a certain topic and learnt as much as I could about it - felt comfy enough to stop 'absorbing it' as much, unsubscribed and moved onto the next topic to learn by subscribing new channels!

Don't worry! Maybe three subscribers that you lose are ghost users. Keep creating engaging and informative content and designing an interesting look for your channel in order to gain more subcribers.
