So should you protect your video work that you do on Youtube? Think about it this way.... i have over 100 videos. Only by out of curiosity i seach the name of the city and the walking video.. on youtube. Notice someone was using a part of my video for his own video production WITHOUT telling me first without crediting me at all.. I then manage to tell youtube administration and very soon then later within hours after filling a form... Youtube deleted that persons video.. Even though the person took some of my video for his own video which was no more then 30 seconds long. The users video is about 1 hour long with other random stolen videos all merched together to make a documentry... I regonised my video in it which was 30 seconds long but youtube deleted that persons video. I was so happy thanks to youtube and the effort. I had to fill a form and everything.

So... Having said this... It is very strange youtube wont tell you if someone has stolen a bit of your video content or anything. It was only me who i manually search around watching other bloggers and somehow regonised a bit of my video content in someones else video. Im suprise youtube didnt even alerted me... Now i wonder HOW many more other users are using bits of my content..... because youtube wont even tell you regardless.. Unless you do it manually by watching video after video of every users out there in your local town.

Well... Should someone like me add a watermark logo on the video brand name? Now i dont want to sound like im scared thinking someone is using my content.. or that im paranoid. Im just frustrated.. its like as if my videos are free given when they not. They there to SHARE... But they not there to steal bits of my video content for your own documentry video.. Without email me about it or without even giving me credit about it. Its a law and a rule. But i guess no one cares so its most likely your video is been stolen or used part of your hard work video in someone else video without you knowing a single thing. Thats a big problem.... youtube seems to not tell you that dispite theres a settings that will warned you if someone is using your video... But yeah..

What do you think folks? It is a big worry... you work so hard to create video content.. it takes YOU hours to create and edit a video afterwards... to share it world wide... until later someone out there will take bits of your video content for thier own pleasure and design for someone else user...

Remember your video you do and created and film by you is your own COPYRIGHT video contents.. But does all this mean regardless how copyright your videos are by you as the owner no one cares anymore?

Tell us about it... Maybe watermark logo on the video i dont no..... Anything goes on youtube with so many people using it... think of it this way your videos is in the public.. anyone out there 1 or more users at random times will someday or somehow steal bits or parts of your video content.... you work hard for it and your the owner of your work.. dont leave the door open at night thinking no one will steal your things.,.. keep it shut all times... Is youtube videos like that? NO.. then what can you do about it.

What can you do about it.... i guess you cant put a lock on every video you do for public... but stealing is super wrong. Share video is GOOD but stealing is a diferent story all together

Thanks

When you join Youtube Partners Program, you get additional tools to find out who uses portions of your video. You can certainly use a watermark but if most creators I follow don't do it. Unless you place a watermark on top of the entire video (which would not be attractive), they can be cropped out.

Non-personalized videos where the creators are not in the video are more likely to get lifted. Anytime you create and release it to the wild, there is always a risk of piracy and there is no fool-proof way to stop it.

Get on YPP and you will have additional tools for monitoring for content piracy.

However, you should be aware if people do it correctly, no one has to ask your permission to use one of your video snippets in many situations. It falls under U.S. Fair Use doctrine. You can Google that to learn more about it.

Stealing is forbidden but people think that they can still get away from it and most people will wish they never get noticed about it. UNTIL i discovered myself strange enough and notice one part of my video was inside someone else document video. I do walking videos. If i wasn't looking around curiosity i wouldn't have even knew about it. Because YouTube didn't advised me anything. Also this YPP don't you have to pay ? isn't that YouTube premium ?

Like i said stealing is selfish,,,, if someone was to want to se part of my video to contact me for permition.. or to give me credit from my channel at least. not just by stealing without i knowing nothing out there on youtube.

But what if people indicate as : We will use your source as (Fair use) without the need to tell you anything... isnt that still very wrong ? Fair use ? but without me knowing anything ? I think the whole majority of the whoile users on youtube do not understand what copyright means to them. And i dont care if they classified it as FAIR USE... its still stealing without the owner of the video knowing nothing to whats happening.

I wish everyone sued watermark name on every owners videos for the safe side. I wonder how many idiots are out there always stealing peoples video every 24/7 a day.. I say a lot. And many owners may never know whats happening.

I am not here to debate you on what is wrong or right. I am telling you the facts. "Fair Use" is a legal doctrine in the U.S. that is eligible for any creator in the U.S. If you don't agree, don't use it. But if someone uses a snippet of your video under Fair Use, you can complain but you can also get pushed back.

And if you feel the solution is to file a lawsuit every time there is an infraction, then you feel free to do so. I am not condoning piracy of videos but you are going to give yourself an ulcer over this over one snippet. If you are that upset about it, the only way to be assured this never happens to you again is keep all your videos private. Otherwise, it is a risk all creators take.

Regarding YPP, it is the Youtube program for creators when when you eligible to start monetizing your channel.. There are no fees to get in. You have to meet certain requirements to be accepted into the program.

Thanks and i understood. I still get quite mad if someone steals little bit of my content videos... anything is not free handed for someone. Its mainly stealing. Plus think about it this way.... someone using a bit of my walking video of it.. But yet i don't get NO credit ? No mentioned this part of the video is from ******* user on youtube and so on? Like come on....... People work so hard and try to archive goals to make videos to eventually be heard to be famous to make MONEY eventually from your own video works.. Not by having someone to steal your videos or some parts of your videos.. Now if someone wants to use a part of my video that is just 30 seconds long or whatever... Then they should message me at least to GIVE permitting... Then i might consider giving them a fair go or a a big NO... Its not fair.. And that thing about (Fair use) is not always good. it is at some extend but never good. Plus that thing that Youtube helps you identified if someone has your video posted in someone else video... non of that is realistic enough..... YouTube wont tell you or detect such a thing. Very very difficult to detect if someone is just simply using a part of your video content..... You just have to watch other users videos who do similar walks or whatever video one does... and then investigate but without been paranoid about it. But it is quite frustration.. Just ruined my day and im sure many of you agree.. Your video content that you do is a hard working job. You film.... you edit... take hours and then upload on compute rand then to youtube and then wait more hours. So it is a time consuming and a lot of dedication time and life with what you do with your youtube channel.

Aniways all good. Just think that the fair use is not always good. plus im not in America to start with so that legal doctrine thing would be useless i think because that is only for America for so what fair use.

Anyways which ever way guys.. Always keep an eye out because YOU are the owner and the rights to STOP anyone stealing your video content. but then again you have lots of thiefts on the internet 24/7 all year long year after year.. Since the internet was born. Try figure that out.
