Why is a short video sometimes the first 20 minutes of viewers can reach thousands, but when no one is watching it won't increase and it's still like that every day
As for shorts I also see a surge of view only on the first day and it goes down to drain. Not sure whether it is the same for everyone or maybe the channels which have lots of subscribers get more recommended. For main video you can create playlist, recommend them through description, end card and end screen. This way your video will be shown more to your subscriber or someone who watched your video at least once.
