Other Social Media Social Media Distraction?

Currently, I'm reading YouTube Secrets by Sean Cannel. In the latest chapter, he talks about social media potentially, (Instagram, Tik Tok ) being a distraction for beginning YouTubers. I'd agree that if it takes you away from your main goal of growing and improving your SEO, production quality, and post consistency, then it is a distraction. What do others think?

I definitely find Tiktok to be a time sink that I'm trying to limit my time on.
I started using it to help with ideas, but it turned into mindless scrolling. So in the last few months I've tried a couple of strategies to only go on there for specific amounts of time and have a reason to be on there and it's helped a lot.
