If you want to buy a laptop for work and gaming, I recommend Apple MacBook Pro 16". But I'm afraid the price may not suit you. However, the laptop is worth the money. I use ThinkPad L540 (Lenovo) ex-IBM. It's reliable and pleasant to use. My companion has Apple. The software we develop and the UI testing tools provided by zaptest.com work perfectly on our laptops. Large auditing companies buy ThinkPad L540 (I know this from experience), which indicates they're great.

I use Adobe premiere pro, there are so many bells and whistles, but it takes a lot of memory so you'll want to dump older files to another drive.
Premiere CS5 or CS6 take much less mem. CC is heavy on the resources, yes

I use Adobe Premier Pro to edit my videos and illustrator to create thumbnails that I sometimes may incorporate in the videos. I also use Adobe Lightroom to edit my images.
