My system shut down in the middle of a zoom session and when I turned my laptop back on the camera didn't work anymore. I cannot get it to work to shoot YouTube Live, or Facebook Live. All I can shoot now is screencasts.
Can anyone help me get my laptop camera up and running again?
Thank you!
I am using a Lenovo Laptop and Windows 10.
It seems like you've encountered an issue that many users face with their laptop cameras. Don't worry; we can troubleshoot this together. First, let's try some basic steps to get your laptop camera up and running again.
To start, go to your laptop's Device Manager by right-clicking on the Windows icon in the taskbar and selecting "Device Manager." Under the "Imaging devices" or "Cameras" section, find your laptop's camera and right-click on it. Then, choose "Enable" if it's not already enabled. If that doesn't work, you can try updating the camera driver by right-clicking on it again and selecting "Update driver." Follow the prompts, and Windows will search for the latest driver updates.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, you can also try restarting your laptop in Safe Mode to see if the camera works there. Sometimes, third-party applications can interfere with the camera's functionality, and Safe Mode will help diagnose this. If it works in Safe Mode, you may need to uninstall recently installed software or update your existing applications to resolve the conflict. Remember to restart your laptop normally afterward.
