I think a short intro is a better way to your YouTube channel. your intro should be 15to 20 seconds long.

I use consistent and medium introductions with the video to help with SEO optimization and I for example like to read the descriptions and I think many people do too.

I think it is much better to just go straight to the point and tell your viewers what they would get by watching the video
If you must use an intro the best way to do it is to first tell them what to expect then show them the intro then go to the main video.
