Any chance we could get the option to have it in the "user's uploads" playlist too?

For example, my video URL being https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4VTwij9KEM and the "user's uploads" playlist with this video being https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4VTwij9KEM&list=UUT-fIDkoTg1woz09XBzI1oA
Definitely - another great idea. And I'm a little embarrassed but I didn't even know there was an "uploads" playlist that you could use in the URL like that.

You should always share the video inside a playlist so that the viewer will continue seeing your content and not someone else's when the first video completes.
For what it's worth, on the subject of sharing videos, it's also a good practice to embed videos (in webpages, blog posts etc.) via their playlist code instead of the standalone one. I learnt of this feature just recently and used it to embed a playlist into my webpage, as shown below:

The first video (Part 1) will automatically proceed to Part 2 and then Part 3, but the user may click the hamburger menu indicated to jump to any video in the list, whenever they wish.

Great tip. TB really makes it easy for us. Any chance anybody can and Ileane's question? We have a tendency of creating a bunch of related playlists for a video and slowly add the videos into the playlist.
Also, what is the max playlist YT supports? Some of our playlist disappear after a while even we have video assigned to it.

Question - how many playlists do you recommend that a video should be in (maximum recommendation)?

I would say any that are relevant to the topic of said playlist. I even have playlists, that feature other playlists, so it really all depends on what you feel fits the video.

Totally awesome tip, thank you! I am working with a YouTube staff member to beef up my channel and one of the first things she asked me to do is to get my videos into a playlist because videos in a playlist get 20% more viewing time. So there you go, with Phil's additional tip it keeps people even longer on our channel.

A couple of Playlist Questions please?
#1 Should a Playlist be made up of ONLY your videos or, can you mix in other peoples videos?

#2 When making a Playlist with your new video..... if you mix in popular yet, similar videos of other extremely popular channels....
will the established channels Ranking and SEO power (if there is such a thing) attract more views to your new video compared to a Playlist of your new videos??

#3 Is it OK to include popular videos from a popular channel when making your Playlist ?

#1 Should a Playlist be made up of ONLY your videos or, can you mix in other peoples videos?
That's totally up to you. I no longer mix my videos with other people's videos. I do have my channel set so that it shows videos that I've "liked." There are a couple of exceptions where I've named a playlist "Other People's Videos I Like." That's where I tuck those videos and those videos are heavily marked with "this video does not belong to me, yadda yadda yadda." Last week I hid all of other people's videos on my channel except one. I have zero interest in getting in trouble with copyright issues because of other people's videos.

#2 When making a Playlist with your new video..... if you mix in popular yet, similar videos of other extremely popular channels....

A video that is in a playlist, yours or not, that is very popular, will undoubtedly give your videos more views as well. However, it can also be confusing to visitors because in your playlist they find videos of you and others, which may not benefit you in the long run. Also, when people watch videos in your playlist, at the end of the video they will see other videos in your playlist, not other videos in general. So this can be beneficial, except that they may be more attracted to other people's videos instead of yours. And isn't your goal to build your own channel?

#3 Is it OK to include popular videos from a popular channel when making your Playlist ?
This is the same question as #1. If you have a popular channel and want to build another channel of yours and include those videos in your new channel's playlist, go for it. But try to build out your own channel with your own videos. There is no one as special as you and people will resonate to you because of you, not because of other people's videos.

Good luck!

Question - how many playlists do you recommend that a video should be in (maximum recommendation)?
Great tips so far about your question. For me personally I try to have any given video in no more than two playlists. I have some playlists that have 100 videos in them and other playlists with only 4 videos in them. For example, one of my playlists called "Personal Development and Spirituality." But now another category has emerged, namely about Confidence and Self Esteem. Until now I tuck them into is "Personal Development and Spirituality" category, but now there are enough videos about the topic that it warranted its own playlist. Until enough videos fill that new category, I will leave the videos in both playlists but as soon as there are enough videos (approximately 20 or so), I will remove them from the "Personal Development and Spiritual" category. And over time this playlist will be split into "Personal Development" and another one called "Spirituality and Religion," or something like that.

Grow with your videos and let your videos help you grow your playlists. :) Let your viewers dictate when it's time to compartmentalize your playlists. There is nothing more frustrating for a viewer to listen to one of your playlists and expecting certain types of videos and then having to watch videos that having not much to do with the playlist's topic.

Just my two cents. :)

Thanks for the advice. I never thought about it but yet it makes sense. Well do this. I also want to say that I love tubebuddy. It has helped me a lot. Love to make the thumb nails and it's more easier to make. I also just learn how to promote my video through here. I still need to learn more but as a newbie I will learn and hoping to soon be a full member.

You know that when you share a video with someone, you should never share just a direct link to the video, right? You should always share the video inside a playlist so that the viewer will continue seeing your content and not someone else's when the first video completes.

Did you know that TubeBuddy has a secret way of helping you with this?

Go to your My Videos page, click the drop down next to any video then select the Info tab. TubeBuddy automatically creates urls that you can copy and use for sharing that include your playlists!

Nice, that is an awesome tip to maybe get a few more views, I will try that with my Thursday video. Thanks

I just tried this and it's absolutely brilliant.
I'm going to do this for all of my link recommendations.
Thanks so much! :)
