I'm only about 9,998,000 views away!

I'm very aware of this. At the rate I'm going, I'm probably not getting monetized at all.

Well, now that I've published a short, I think they might be right. Just a feeling, considering one short now makes up about 1/5 of my views.

That was the problem. Thank you for helping me fix it!

Recently, I watched the TubeBuddy short on uploading shorts on PC, and gave it another try. I did everything it said, made it vertical, made it shorter than a minute, uploaded it, and tagged it with #shorts. But, it's still coming up as a long form video? Any ideas why this might have happened?

First of all, what's the title of the video? I don't know what it's about just from the thumbnail

There's no way to tell when a video will go viral. But if you keep making videos, and trying to improve, one of them will blow up sometime. (For me, it was never the ones I expected to).

1: They have helped me. My best performing video (which got 300 or so views) was a short. And, they're fun to make and good practice for full length videos. 2: Yes, when my short blew up (see above) I got 4 subscribers (and I have 30). 3: Only if there are too many compared to the full length...

I always feel that thumbnails shouldn't be clickbait-y. This comes from someone who keeps looking for a video, finding it, and then it's thumbnail is what was meant to be clickbait, but ended up as click-repellent.

On some videos, like reaction videos, it would make sense. But on other videos, it would just be clickbait, and clickbait can always backfire. Don't you hate when your videos are click-repellent?

I am the beginner right now, and I can say, this is great advice. Oh, and if I had to give some of my own advice to someone newer than me? I would say "there's tons of great photo editing software out there. Make sure you find a good one that won't limit you."

I typically take 10-20 minutes to film, and 30-40 minutes editing and doing all that SEO stuff (plus uploading). As for watching, it varies. I have had days where I watched 6+ hours (of gameplay which was exciting) and days where I've only watched one 30 second short.

I like to say something like "Hi, and welcome back to Calico Village. In this video I will be..." and then cut straight to the video.
